Papillon Travel website

Papillon Travel is a London-based start-up that specialises in arranging travel to the world’s most desirable luxury boutique hotels.

I was asked to write the copy for Papillon Travel’s new website, developing a tone of voice for the brand and crafting copy across pages ranging from hotel and tour descriptions to landing pages and ‘top 5’ lists.

Hermitage Bay

The most romantic hotel in the Caribbean? Almost certainly.
Hidden away on a secluded beach, Hermitage Bay is drop-dead gorgeous. The vibe is exclusive and boutique, with 27 beautiful suites designed with honeymooners in mind.

Arrive
Transfer time is around 35 minutes by car from V.C. Bird International Airport. The first glimpse of the dazzling turquoise bay as you near the hotel is a real spine-tingler.

Eat
Start each day with breakfast on the beachfront patio, the almond trees rustling in the breeze. Poolside cocktails, laid back lunches and dusky candle-lit dinners are what Hermitage Bay is all about. The food is island fresh: plump prawns, fiery peppers, sweet and juicy mango. Think modern European meets Caribbean zing, with organic produce to the fore. Foodies should also take advantage of the hotel’s cooking classes and farm tours.

Sleep
The sumptuous suites are a Balinese dream in dark chocolate and vanilla. Choose a hillside suite for maximum ‘wow’ factor, with spellbinding views of the bay and a private plunge pool. Beach lovers may prefer to forgo the pool for a cottage closer to the shore; either way, you’ll have a free-standing bathtub, outdoor shower, WiFi and a sound system to set the mood.

Rest
The fragrant Garden Spa is pure zen; complimentary meditation, yoga and Pilates classes are available twice weekly. Chilling by the beachfront infinity pool with a good book is also highly recommended.

Play
The Caribbean Sea beckons, with sailing, snorkelling and kayaking all on offer. There’s also a bright and contemporary fitness centre if you’re feeling energetic.

Know
It’s perfectly possible to spend a week at Hermitage Bay without leaving your suite. At the very least, we recommend a private dinner on your terrace and an indulgent in-suite spa treatment. It’s also worth noting that kids 12 and over are allowed year round, but the minimum age drops to 8 in July, August and December.
